Coincidentally, last summer, Wendy and I started a Twitter campaign, trying to get at least DJ Lance Rock on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. (You can read all of the details about what happened with that campaign by clicking here.) So now that Yo Gabba Gabba is on a huge tour, and they just happen to be in New York, we are super excited that they were able to coordinate schedules to be on that specific show! Now, don't go thinking we're being all smug over here at Gabbafriends and thinking it had anything to do with us! We know that Questlove, the drummer of the Roots, has been on Yo Gabba Gabba at least twice and is a friend of the show. Questlove will also be doing an appearance with Yo Gabba Gabba at the Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest. When I sent a Tweet out yesterday, asking for confirmation of the appearance on Late Night, Questlove very nicely responded back to me, and it truly made my day!

It's also really exciting to know that Yo Gabba Gabba is one of the first music guests to appear after Jimmy Fallon's extremely successful job of hosting the 2010 Primetime Emmy's! We're hoping that it means more viewers tuning in to experience Yo Gabba Gabba, maybe even for the first time!

We went to Yo Gabba Gabba Live in Bristow, VA yesterday and wanted to share with everyone. We went as DJ Lance, Super Martian Robot Girl, and Foofa.

Our friend Latricia is getting a head start on her daughter's YGG birthday party! Here's what she's sent us so far:

"I am working on items for my daughter’s first birthday party coming up in October. I know I am working on it early, but it is special because it is her first AND because we are flying down to Alabama to spend it with her grandparents and cousins!

I have gotten tons of great ideas from the people here. I'll send more pictures as items are completed. The pictures are of hats and blowouts done myself, candy bar labels and party bags (to be filled with different candy – not those shown)."

We received word today that the Yo Gabba Gabba Live! There's a Party In My City! tour has canceled the Chattanooga, TN dates on October 19th, and will instead have another show on that date in Birmingham, AL! No other information as to why the show was rescheduled for another city is available at this time.

I just wanted to share my twin boys' first birthday pictures. They had a wonderful time with family and friends! I love the way Shoprite did their Yo Gabba Gabba cake.

I came up with this pic entitled "Don't Be Afraid," which is one of my favorite YGG songs. I outlined with pen and colored with gouache paints. It took a few days to do. I really struggled with making the light from the flashlights stand out, though it's really the most noticeable on Muno. I am pleased with how Plex, Muno, Toodee and the stone arch came out. I hope to do more like this in the future.
