Yo Gabba Gabba Live in Wallingford, CT!
Editor's Note: We've had so many people ask what the whole live experience is like with the Gabba Party Packages, so if you're wondering if it is worth the extra cost, read on, and see for yourself! High five, AJsMomma!
Hi Gabba Friends!
We wanted to share our experience of Yo Gabba Gabba Live last week.
Remember us from last year??
(Those pictures make me want to cry - she's getting so big!)
Well, Addie still loves Yo Gabba Gabba and the day the tickets went on sale we scooped up Row D and sprung for the Party Package! Come to find out, they did not sell seats in the first two rows, so we were actually in the second row, right in the middle. We went to the 5pm show and the after party started at 6:30.
When we got there we checked out the big "Party in My City" truck and managed to snap a few pictures.
We checked in, got our wristbands for the after party and checked out the souvenirs. We didn't wait in line to buy anything because we knew we'd have our own souvenir booth at the after party. But of course Addie needed to have a glow-stick once she saw them.
We visited the Revolution Foods booth and bounced around a bit to kill some time before the show.
The show started shortly after we got to our seats. She was SO excited when DJ Lance came out on stage. But I have NEVER seen her so excited as when they introduced the rest of the Gabba gang! Each time one came out she screamed in excitement, jumped up and down, and made sure to ask if we would be able to hug that character later. This was a theme throughout the show and each time I assured her that yes, we would be able to hug them after the show.
They kept the kids dancing and singing the whole time. There was tons of confetti, a balloon drop (timed right before the intermission...which was good for the kids to have something to play with during the down time but it also meant that I was continuously bopped in the head with a balloon for the rest of the show by the kiddo behind us), and bubbles!
The Super Music Friends Show was done by Mates of State - and we met them and their 2 daughters at the after party as well. Our Dancey Dance friend was DO-IT. Although I question his authenticity...ha ha ha...Addie didn't notice.
Biz's Beat of the Day was definitely a highlight. He went to both sides of the stage and brought some kids up to do some beats during the show. It was very cute, but tons of people from the back of the theater ran up (yes, RAN) with their kids and basically pushed them up on stage. I'll admit, I was glad when that was over. Addie wanted to go see him but we reminded her that we were meeting him after the show.
The show was great - even the adults around us were singing along. The characters did a great job interacting with the kids in the front sections too.
Once the show ended it was time for the after-party!! We waited in line for our picture with the Gabba gang.
Addie loved it. She gave each one a hug, and a high five. Just the look on her face made it worth every penny.
DJ Lance came out and read 2 books - the Very Hungry Caterpillar and a Yo Gabba Gabba book. Kemba (DJ Lance's sister in the Family episode) held the mic for him - but they did not really introduce her - but we knew who she was!
Next, Biz came out and did some beats with the kids. Addie loved it and was definitely not shy taking her turn.
There were healthy snacks, tons of balloons, tables set up with Gabba plates/napkins/hats, coloring, blocks for the kids and a DJ to keep everyone dancing! Such a great idea!
We had an AMAZING time! If they do a tour again next year we will definitely be there.
