Hailey's Birthday Party!
Jamie sent in pictures from Hailey's birthday party! Hailey's favorite character is Toodee, so she was front and center... next to the Birthday Girl, of course! Read on for all the details about treasure hunts, special cookies, and tons of homemade goodies!
Jamie writes in:
Hi Gabba Friends! I wanted to share pictures of my daughter hailey's 3rd birthday party we had this past weekend.
She has loved Yo Gabba Gabba since it started so this year we had a huge celebration.
We spent almost 3 months making decorations, including a 3 foot tall Brobee made of paper mache and covered in felt fur. I also made a giant Toodee and Muno out of posterboard.
I made center pieces for the table using the chinese take out boxes, tissue paper and printouts of the characters.
Here's what we did at the party:
When the kids first arrived I let them choose a shirt to wear that had a Yo Gabba Gabba character on it. To make the shirts I cut the characters out of fleece then sewed them onto the shirts. The kids loved them!
Then we had a table set up for them to each decorate a party hat. I made hats out of white cardstock and glued a Yo Gabba Gabba Character on, then let the kids decorate them with stickers.
Next we went on a Yo Gabba Gabba treasure hunt. I put small prizes in plastic bags and glued a Yo Gabba Gabba character to each one. I hid them around the house and let the kids find them.
I made each child a bag for their treasure hunt. I used canvas bags from the craft store and used glue to attach a Yo Gabba Gabba character that I made from fleece fabric.
Next it was time for the Pinata. I made a foofa pinata for the kids to hit and they loved it!
Finally we had the Toodee Party in my tummy bean bag game. (I know the song is Brobees but my daughter LOVES toodee and insisted on her instead!)
For the cake I ordered a sheet cake from costco with balloons on it and added a picture of Toodee.
Finally when it was time to go home I gave each child a sugar cookie, which I made to look like Toodee, Brobee, Muno and Foofa. Attached to the card was a card that said "Turning 3 was AWESOME. Thank you for helping me celebrate!"
I made each child a stuffed Muno to take home as well as a Yo Gabba Gabba coloring book I made myself.
I also made a Yo Gabba Gabba Felt Friends Board for each child. All the facial features can be removed, my daughter loves playing with it.
For gifts, Hailey got lots of Yo Gabba Gabba merchandise and I made her a blanket with Toodee, Muno, Brobee, Foofa and Plex sewn on it.
We had an AMAZING time, everyone said it was the best birthday party ever. Thanks to your site for inspiration and all the great ideas!
