Do It Yourself (DIY) Handmade Invitations
You will need an image editing program (like Photoshop or you can download Gimp for free at gimp.org) to make digital invitations.
Our friend, Laura (click to view her etsy shop), is very talented with digital scrapbooking and she has recommended this free Photoshop tutorial: Laurie Garza Video Tutorials
In the past we had received a link to a blog that featured free clip art to download... For a short time, the blog seemed to be down, but thank goodness it's back up! Thanks to an anonymous commenter who pointed that out to us and left these directions: "I emailed the lady that had the Yo Gabba Gabba clip art on her site and she told me how to get it. Go to her website http://scrappin-alikat.blogspot.com/ and on the right side of the page it will say My 4shared Folder and click on previous kits. Click on the GetBentAnon folder and it is on the bottom of the second page. When you are ready to download you have to enter the password getbent and then click on download file."
*We just have to ask that you not use these images for commercial gain as they are the intellectual property of Yo Gabba Gabba. Personal use for your private invitations is fine. (Click image to enlarge.)

Hire a Professional Graphics DesignerThe greatest benefit to hiring a graphics designer is that they have access to specialized tools to make customized professional products. Not to mention how much less stress it is during the planning process to be able to delegate the task of invitations to a professional! We came across this excellent designer from 3 Little Flowers who has made some very cute invitations and thank you notes. They can even do birth announcements and labels! (Think of the possibilities!) 3 Little Flowers is extending a special offer of 15% off to the readers of Gabbafriends.com when you order a combo (thank you note plus invitation)... just make sure you let them know Gabbafriends sent you! Click here or any of the images below to go to their blog! |

Grayson's birthday invites I made
and a little template
Make sure you add at least a 50 px border to each side before getting them printed. I only added 20px to mine and the "N" in Grayson was half cut off!
