Linden's First Birthday Party
When our son Linden was about 3 months old, we stumbled across "Yo Gabba Gabba". It was the first show Linden really responded to. It was the first show that we, his parents, didn't yawn during or roll our eyes at the annoying songs. We tripped out when we saw one of our favorite bands "The Shins" performing on the show! It seriously is our dream show. It combines the retro with the modern, has adorable characters, incredible guests, amazing music, teaches kids great lessons and makes everyone laugh! I have to say our favorite episode is the Jack Black episode. So, when it came time to plan Linden's first birthday, we knew that it had to be a Yo Gabba Gabba theme.
We designed our own invitations.

This is a banner I made with pictures of Linden's babyhood.

I tried to use all the bright Yo Gabba Gabba colors, with all of our decorations and favors!

We improvised a little with the cake. I ordered a "Backyardigans" cake, boooo, at a local grocery store's pastry department because they didn't have Yo Gabba Gabba. But it worked out great, because I just added the the Gabba crew to the cake and it worked!

Along with the cake, I set up a candy station. It was alot of fun trying to find the right colored candy for each character. The guests were able to help themselves to a bag and fill it up with gabba candy goodness!

Plex was representing "Lemonheads"! Yummy and sour!

Thank you Nickjr.com for your wonderful print-outs! These were fun and easy to make.

For added decor, I printed photos of Linden from babyhood and glued pics of Yo Gabba Gabba to accent.

More Nickjr.com print-outs! These masks were at our craft table so kids and adults could choose and make their own!

Fun sign I drew free-handed, I totally felt like I was in 6th grade again... :)

The CRAFT table! We had coloring pages (nickjr.com) of Yo Gabba Gabba, Gabba masks, and coozies for adults and kids to decorate. It was a hit!

Linden had never really colored before, and how great that his first coloring experience was drawing in Muno!

The birthday boy being super silly on his new fire truck toy!

Oh yes we did! We let our baby go crazy with his cake! It was so priceless! He actually smashed his face into the cake, no joke.

He REALLY enjoyed the cake... I mean REALLY.

"Birthdays are AWWESOME!! There is DEFINITELY a party in MY tummy!"

It's time for the tub!!!

Here we are, Daddy, Linden and Mommy in our Yo Gabba Gabba shirts at the end of the party...can you tell we are a little tired? :)

We love our baby Linden! Happy first birthday sweetie!

We made our own photo booth for the guests to have their pictures done(my hubby and I are photographers).
We had one person from each family wear the DJ Lance hat and glasses! This is us!

These are good friends of ours being silly on the Gabba set!

After a bath, all cleaned up and wiped out. "Goodbye see ya later we had fun..." Linden had such a blast on his birthday!

Thanks for looking, and reading, and thanks to Gabba Friends for being so ahhhmazing! We love this site, and got so many great ideas from it! Below is a video of photos we took of Linden before the party. We call it "Wreck the Cake" session.
