October Brings NEW EPISODES of Yo Gabba Gabba!
We just caught wind of a press release this morning announcing the air dates of episodes from Yo Gabba Gabba! season two. The episodes are scheduled to air Monday, Oct. 12 – Friday, Oct. 16 on Nick Jr. Another interesting highlight of this press release is that Noggin officially became Nick Jr. as of September 28,2009. Andy Samberg, The Roots and MGMT are among the celeb guests hanging with the Yo Gabba Gabba! gang during a week of new episodes, premiering Monday, Oct. 12 – Friday, Oct. 16 at 1:00 p.m. (ET) on Nick Jr (*formerly named NOGGIN). Additional guest stars appearing throughout the premiere week include hip-hop legend Biz Markie, teaching preschoolers how to beat box in the recurring “Biz’s Beat of the Day” segment, singer/illustrator/composer Mark Mothersbaugh (DEVO) in the recurring “Mark’s Magic Pictures” drawing segment, skateboarder Ray Barbee and musical guests Reeve Oliver, Lady Tigra and Little Ones. Yo Gabba Gabba!, currently shooting its third season, is created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz and is produced by The Magic Store and W!LDBRAIN. The series airs daily at 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (ET) on Nick Jr.
The schedule for the premiere week of Yo Gabba Gabba! is as follows (all times are 1:00 p.m., ET):
Monday, Oct. 12 --“Family”
Muno's whole family comes to visit and the Gabba gang learns about their family tree. DJ Lance remembers all the characters as babies, and his sister Kemba makes an appearance. Musical guests The Roots perform “Lovely, Love My Family.” Other featured songs include: “Meet My Family,” “Nice to Meet You,” and “Empty Full.”

Tuesday, Oct. 13 -- “Art”
The Gabba gang mix paint colors to get new shades and paint a picture. Everyone contributes a piece of art and for an art show. Andy Samberg teaches the “Alligator Chomp” “Dancey Dance.” Musical guests MGMT perform “Art is Everywhere,” and Ray Barbee performs a “Cool Trick.” Other featured songs include: “Bossa for Foofa,” “Don’t Say Mean Things,” and “Art Show.”

Wednesday, Oct. 14 -- “Boat”
The Gabba gang discovers a box with Viking costumes and a map. After dressing up in their costumes, they go on a boat ride adventure discovering a new land and new friends. Musical guest Reeve Oliver performs “I Like Sandwiches.” Other featured songs include: “Boat Trip,” “Party in My Tummy/Try It” remix and “Island Beach.”

Thursday, Oct. 15 – “Band”
The characters are interested in learning to play music and decide to start a band. Toodee plays the bass, Muno the guitar, Brobee’s on drums, Foofa plays the tambourine, and Plex plays the keytar. They can’t play their instruments very well so DJ Lance and our new friends, the Yo Dazzlers, tells them to practice. Finally, they’re able to play a song together as a band. Musical guest Lady Tigra performs “When I Hear Music” Other featured songs include: “We Like to Rock,” “Practice,” and “2002 – A Hit Song.”

Friday, Oct. 16– “Dress Up”
The Gabba gang likes to dress up and play pretend. DJ Lance gives them a costume box, and they pull out shoes, put on silly hats, play cowboys, and also save a princess. Musical guests Little Ones perform “Let’s Dress Up.” Other featured songs include: “Funny Hat,” “Cowboy Showdown,” and “Brobee Adventure Hero.”

The all-new feature-length DVD Yo Gabba Gabba!: Meet My Family will be available in retail stores nationwide on October 20, 2009. Created by Nickelodeon Home Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, the DVD includes the “Family” episode featuring The Roots, plus three additional episodes featuring guest stars The Shins, Mya, Nikki Flores and The Aquabats.
