Thomas' Yo Gabba Gabba/Brobee Party!

Thomas' mom, Leah, sent in these beautiful photos from Thomas' Yo Gabba Gabba birthday party! We really love all of her creative ideas, which included bubble guns, streamers on the slides, and the "Monster Candy Bar"!

I'd like to share some of my son Thomas' Yo Gabba Gabba themed 2nd Birthday Party with you because I found your site really helpful when planning his party! I hope that others can use some of my photos and ideas as inspiration for their own parties. :-)

Brobee is Thomas' favorite YGG character so he took center stage in the invites, Thomas' birthday duds, and the decorations.

I made the invitations myself using your clip art files and a free font called Grinched that closely resembles the YGG font.

Thomas' Brobee Shirt comes from Etsy Seller Bella Grace Creations. She mainly makes items for girls, but gladly took on Thomas' custom Brobee shirt. She did a great job! His green shorts are from Wal-mart.

For the decorations I used table clothes I found for $2 in the bargain bin at Big Lots. They were the perfect YGG colors. I ran them vertically and paired two on each table for a better look. I snagged balloons, paper plates, napkins and streamers in the same YGG colors from Wal-Mart and my local party store. We bunched the balloons together, and used the streamers on the party tables and also as a cool fringe on the playground slides. The kids loved sliding through the fringe curtains on their way down the slide -- and a few parents joined in too!

We had burgers, hot dogs and sammies for dinner. "Dazzle-Berry Lemonade" and other YGG colored sodas in old fashioned bottles ( Crush, Jones Sodas, etc.) served in a galvanized tub were another festive YGG touch.

A bouquet of bright yellow spider mums where an easy and inexpensive centerpiece and looked fantastic. $2 per package red party hats in honor of Brobee's horns were decorated with a little sticker of the monster himself. They were printed off the YGG clip art onto mailing labels, cut out, then stuck onto each hat. I also used this same label/sticker on the favor boxes. Favors were bubbles, play dough in YGG colors and scoops of candy from the "Monster Candy Bar." All candy was YGG colors and was displayed in inexpensive glassware from Wal-Mart in various shapes and sizes. The big hit of the candy bar was the rainbow twizzlers, which are the perfect colors for a YGG party.

We played a mix of YGG music with Motown which kept everyone in the mood to move and groove. So we had lots of dancey-dancing! I also had an Infinity Bubbles handheld bubble gun type thing that I got at Wal-mart for $4. It would blow out hundreds of bubbles at a time and the kids loved running through these magic bubbles. It did stop working after a while, but for $4 the kids had fun while it lasted.

The big hit of the party was the Brobee cake I made. It was a three layer cake, fondant facial features and horns, and fur-like green icing. The fur look was created with a Grass Pastry Bag tip (#233) and lots and lots of time! It was so worth the time though. Thomas (and the party guests) loved it!

I joke that the half eaten cake looks like Brobee had to have a lobotomy after an afternoon with a bunch of 2 year olds! :-)
