Win a Copy of New Friends on DVD Today!

In case you missed the premiere of the episode, "New Friends" guest starring Jack Black, I'll do my best to refrain from posting spoilers... but let me assure you, friends, it was super radmatastic! Even with special previews posted here and here, I could not have been prepared for how hilarious this one episode turned out to be. It was a noticeably unique episode, as Jack Black's story of being lost in Gabba Land was ongoing throughout the episode, when in the past, guest celebrities usually signed on for a single segment.

Yesterday, Yo Gabba Gabba released a behind the scenes look of "New Friends", where it was revealed that Jared Hess (director and co-writer of Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre) was onset as a "special episode consultant". It suddenly made sense to me: Hess' direction style, Jack Black's personal flair, and Yo Gabba Gabba's joyful enthusiasm proved to be the perfect marriage. Indeed, "New Friends" is a very special treat.

This month, Nick Jr. is releasing the episode of "New Friends" on their second full-length DVD of Yo Gabba Gabba with a title of the same name: New Friends!. The DVD, follows in the style of The Dancey Dance Bunch! featuring four great episodes. Along with the episode of "New Friends", you will find three great episodes from season one: "Greetings", "Find", and "Share".

All four of the episodes chosen for this DVD are a great summary of what Yo Gabba Gabba is about, featuring some of the die-hard fan favorite songs and jingles such as "Hey, Come Out and Play", "Please, Thank You", and "Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Lose". Within the episodes, you will also see plenty of guest star appearances from Rahzel (formerly of The Roots), Sean Kingston, Cornelius, Mark Mothersbaugh, and Biz Markie. And of course, I would be remiss to forget a season one favorite, Super Martian Robot Girl, illustrated by Indie artists Evan Dorkin and Sarah Dyer.

Though the DVD doesn't contain any extras, there are so many free "extras" found on both Nick Jr. and Yo Gabba Gabba's websites! Check out all the awesome games, videos, and printables on both sites!!
